Brandon Farrellโ€™s Notes

Dieter is the rock star (literally) winemaker from Presqu'ile in Santa Maria Valley and I am very proud to say he made our second Cuvee. This is a blend of the famed Bien Nacido Vineyard and Presquileโ€™s vineyards, two of the most dynamic vineyards in California. The wine was picked early to retain a freshness then aged in a used Foudre, which is an oak vessel(technically not a barrel) holding 500-32,000 gallons of wine.Typically a barrique holds around 60 gallons. The size of this vessel is always used for less oxidation and oak influence keeping the wine fresher. This is a dead ringer for a crisp, clean Chardonnay that is perfect for quaffing with friends or placing a serious coursed out wine dinner. The fruit on it shows its sense of place from Santa Barbra but the way itโ€™s structured is very French, I hate to say almost Chablis like.

This wine punches far beyond its price showing fruit ofYellow Apples and Asian Pears with a finessed hint of cream and white florals that is instantly refreshed by salinity & acid. The wine finishes incredibly refreshing leaving you clamoring for another sip. While lean enough to be enjoyed alone it demands to be paired with food from simple apps to eloquently prepared meals
